Our Journey So Far

In 2016, East Suffolk Council embarked on a project to rejuvenate Lowestoft South Beach sea-front, enliven leisure and tourist attractions, and restore the town’s spirit.

Headed up by design studio, Hemingway Design, the team presented their vision for the future of our town. A place which locals would be proud of, ready to welcome day trippers and climate conscious holiday-makers.

Plans included what would become First Light Lowestoft, a free 24-hour multi arts beach festival which saw 30,000 people head to South Beach shores for its very first run back in 2019.

Building on the First Light buzz, another key part of the vision was now ready to take place, a re-think of East Point Pavilion.

Following a six month refurbishment, the Pavilion officially reopened on 18th June, just in time for the second ever First Light Festival taking place that same weekend. Fitted out with the new food hall, bar and stage set up, the space is ready to welcome our fantastic lineup of food traders, DJs, live musicians and of course you!

This is just the start for EPP. We have exciting plans to run a year-long schedule of live music, DJs and performances, alongside a varied calendar of pop up makers and producers events, creative activities, workshops and more.

Stay tuned for new updates coming soon…
