Accessing East Point Pavilion

East Point Pavilion is a community friendly space, offering a wide range of street food and local craft drinks.   With live music, pop-up events including crafts stalls and festivals, and a reading area for children, East Point Pavilion is a welcoming and safe space for people of all ages.

Changing places.

Our newly installed Changing Places Toilets offer larger facilities that have the right equipment, including a changing bench and a hoist, designed to support people with disabilities who need assistance.

Getting to Us

We’re just a 5 minute walk across the bridge from Lowestoft Train Station.

The nearest bus stop is opposite Lowestoft Train Station, and serves the 1, 103, X1, 1A, 105, X2, 99, 106, X21, 102, 122 and X22 routes.

The nearest taxi rank is at Lowestoft Train Station, though taxis can pick up and drop off from in front of the Pavilion on the toilet block side of the building (away from the seafront).

 Travel by public transport

  • You can get to East Point Pavilion by bus.

  • The nearest bus stop is on Parade Road North which is less than 0.1 miles from East Point Pavilion

  • There is a selection of buses which connect us to the town centre for example, No X2, X22 and 109

Travel by taxi

  • You can get a taxi with Roadrunner Taxis by calling 01502 555555. This taxi company has wheelchair accessible vehicles and minibuses

  • You can get a taxi with Lowestoft Wheelchair Taxis by calling 07960011080. This taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Parking

  • There is parking near the venue. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 15 metres from the main entrance.

  • There is a drop-off point opposite the main entrance. The drop-off point has a level access

  • From the car park to the entrance, there is a dropped kerb.

  • The car park has a level, tarmac surface, and is accessible from Marine Parade, which is a one-way road.

Visual Impairment - General Information

  • We have contrast markings on all glass doors, contrast markings on all full-height windows and high colour contrast between walls and doorframes.

Accessible Toilets

  • There are two public toilets for disabled visitors, one of which is inside a Changing Places room

  • The Changing Places room contains a hoist, toilet, sink, and adult changing table

  • Both toilets contain automatic hand dryers

  • From all entrances to the public toilets, there is level access. The route is 1.8 meters wide, or more.

  • The toilet doors are 900mm wide or more

  • The toilet flooring is non-slip

  • The direction of transfer onto the toilet can be left or right in the Changing Places room, and is left in the single toilet

  • There is 1560mm in front of the toilet in the single toilet. The toilet seat is 460mm high. The toilets have handrails and wall rails

   Place to eat and drink

  • From the main entrance to the dining area, there is level access. To get to a table, there are no steps

  • The route through the dining area is 800mm wide, or more

  • There is background music at all times, unless a live act is playing

  • We cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free specific diets

  • From the main entrance to this area, there is level access

  • The outside surface consists of wide paving stones

Wheelchair and Level Access

  • The building is entirely on one level and step-free, with pavement immediately outside all external doors.

  • There is 1 disabled toilet and 1 Changing Places space (see below for more information), as well as separate Men’s and Women’s toilets. These are public toilets, and so you don’t need to buy anything in order to use them.

  • Adjacent to the Pavilion is our garden area. This is currently a gravel space, but there is a central section connecting to Royal Green that is accessible to wheelchair users and buggies.

  • The bar has a lower height accessible serving area.

  • We have a range of seating areas and options, including long trestle tables with wide aisles and free standing chairs that can be moved around. Our staff will always be happy to help you reconfigure furniture for your needs.

  • For music events, the stage can be seen from multiple wheelchair areas, and strobes will not be used.
